Type 9T differs from the type 9 in that other visual protection planks are used. The planks are – instead of 20 millimeters/0.8-inch. thick and made of Douglas fir – here 23 millimeters/0.9-inch. thick and made of bar-glued high mountain larch from Austria. The stick gluing (5 strips) results in a higher form stability compared to the Douglas fir plank. As with the type 9, the planks of the type 9T are nine centimeters high and provide opaque visual protection.
